Profile

The MCA department was started by the RBVRR Institute of Technology, in 2002. It is affiliated to Osmania University with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. So far, Seventeen (17) batches of students numbering over thousand (1000) have successfully passed out of the institute and occupy important positions in different organizations. These students have fond memories of their stay in the college and are emotionally attached to their alumnus.

 

Admission Procedure:

 

Candidates seeking admission in to the MCA programme should have obtained a graduation degree from any one of the recognized universities, having studied mathematics as one of the subjects either in their Intermediate or in their UG study programmes. They should have qualified in the Integrated Common Entrance Test (I-CET) conducted by an authorized university on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The MCA programme attracts young and bright students of the state.

 

The Convener of Admissions, APSCHE, through statewide online counseling allocates 42 students to RBVRRIT to pursue their MCA program depending on their preference & rank obtained in the common entrance test. Among the colleges affiliated to Osmania University, RBVRR Institute of Technology has emerged as the preferred destination for students seeking admission in to the MCA Program.

 

However, the management reserves the right to offer admission to eighteen(18) candidates under management quota in each course. The admission process under management quota is looked after by the admission committee consisting of four(4) members viz... The Hon. Chairman, the Hon. Secretary, the Hon. Treasurer, and the Director, RBVRR Institute of Technology.

 

Curriculum

With annual intake of 60 students. The MCA Programme is spread over four semesters with real time project work included in the four semesters. Well equipped computer laboratories with latest software and high configuration. Sessional Marks: In MCA there is a continuous evaluation of student performance through internal assessments twice in every subject in each semester. Each Sessional exam will have maximum of 30 marks and students are required to attempt 4 out of 6 questions. Either aggregate / average of the two internals conducted is awarded as marks obtained by the students and this information is forwarded to OU along with the 75%percentage of attendance procured at the end of the semester.

 

Project work

Each candidate should do a project work as part of MCA Programme. It should be carried out in any of the specializations at any Govt organization/ public sector undertaking or any private organization with five years of standing and recognized by the University. This project work should be carried out under supervision of a guide who is having a continuous service of not less then 3 years in a University or a college where the course is being offered or an organization recognized by University.

 

The project work submitted by a candidate is evaluated by an external examiner appointed by the University.

75% of teh time allotted to coverage of university curriculam.
25 of the time is fixed for coverage of job-oriented courses
